Allamakee SPF-SIG

The Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG) was a five year grant funded by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP).  SPF SIG was in 23 Iowa counties, including Allamakee, to meet the following goals:

  • Reduce underage alcohol use (under age 21)
  • Reduce adult binge drinking (18 and over)

Strategies implemented:

  • Alcohol Compliance Checks
  • Apply Appropriate Penalties to Minors in Possession
  • Counter Marketing/Counter Advertising Campaign (ages 18 to 22)
  • Counter Marketing/Counter Advertising Campaign (ages 13 to 16)
  • Enforce Impaired Driving Laws

Allamakee IPFS

The Iowa Partnership for Success Grant (IPFS was a five-year grant funded by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP).  IPFS was in 12 Iowa counties, including Allamakee, to meet the following goals:

  • Reduce underage drinking and youth binge drinking among individuals ages 12-20.

  • Responsible Beverage Server Training
  • Social Host and Cost Recovery Ordinance
  • IDPH Media Campaign
  • Project Northland/Powerlines
