MINUTES OF THE ALLAMAKEE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2026

Board members present: Byrnes, Keatley, Clark. All members voting “AYE” unless noted.

 

Meeting called to order by Clark.

26.109-Motion Keatley/Second Byrnes to open public hearing for FY27 Allamakee County max property tax levy. Motion carried.

 

Comments received related to expenses for the Public Safety Center; Compensation Board raises; percentage increases for rural and city property owners; Conservation and Driftless Center expenses; amount of land in forest reserve; elderly on fixed income, elderly credits and legislation to help elderly; Sheriff Mellick talked about the technology costs and life span of equipment at the Public Safety Center and lifespan of vehicles today compared to several years ago; insurance costs; buying used vs new equipment for Secondary Roads; Engineer Ridenour addressed the costs of equipment, what they buy used/new and why.

26.110-Motion Byrnes/Second Keatley to close public hearing for FY27 Allamakee County max property tax levy. Motion carried.
