The following people were present at various times throughout the meeting in person or via Zoom: Joseph Moses – Waukon Standard, Denise Beyer – Auditor and Clerk to Supervisors, Nicki Smedsrud, Nick Stortz, Michael Coyle, Mike Hohenbrink – Postville Herald, Jacob Dougherty, Clark Mellick, Jim Pladsen, Amy Bresnahan, Lori Cahoon, Stephanie Runkle, Brian Ridenour, Corey Snitker.

Public Comment: None

Sheriff Clark Mellick gave an update on the use of the Medical Examiner vehicle, which has been stored at hospital. VMH requested to transfer ownership of the vehicle to the county; other ME supplies need to also be moved to county storage rather than the garage at the hospital. The hospital needs the space for a different vehicle. The ME vehicle was purchased with County ARPA funds for Medical Examiner use. The ME vehicle could be stored at Sheriff’s office in the climate controlled lower shed. ME’s office would have 24/7 access to it. County will make room for the storage of body bags and other supplies.  ME Investigator Jacob Dougherty feels there are enough dollars in the proposed FY27 county ME budget to cover the insurance and maintenance expenses previously paid by the hospital. VMH is willing to keep the morgue at their location; Mellick feels formalizing an agreement with the hospital for use and storage of the morgue is best and will have Assistant County Attorney prepare/review the agreement for approval at a future meeting.

26.093-Motion Byrnes/Second Clark to accept the ownership of the 2020 Silverado from VMH, add it to the county insurance list and move the ME equipment and supplies from VMH to a county storage facility. Motion carried.

Runkle presented plat for approval.

26.094-Motion Byrnes/Second Clark to approve resolution of subdivision plat for Regancrest Holsteins LLC.  Roll call: Byrnes-aye; Clark-aye; Keatley-ABSENT. Motion carried.
